Saltcoats Police Station
1. How many people work at the station? 150 Police Officers, 80 CID Officers and 30 cleaners = 260 Staff Members
2. How many cells are there? 20 cells but are only used at weekend people
3. Are all staff people friendly? the staff are friendly only if you are friendly with them
4. How many civilian staff Is there? every one who works in saltcoats police station are all civilians
5. What happens when there is s fire drill? if there is a fire drill we evacuate the building to the train station
6. How many patrolling officers are there (foot/car/bike/helicopter)? 100 in cars, 50 on bikes , 110 on foot and there is no helicopters
7. Are they any disabled members of staff? yes there is one and she works in the lost and found department
8. What are the different shifts? there are many shifts but most of it is patrolling
9. Do any members of the staff carry guns? only if needed (e.g. bank hold ups)
10. How many dogs do you have? 50 dogs
11. Can you work at the same branch as a member of your family? yes but not in the same department
12. When is the busiest time of week? the weekend
13. Is there wheelchair access? yes the front entrance is ground level
14. Is it a safe place to work? half and half because anybody could come in and cause havoc
15. How many weapons have been collected in the past year? total weapons in 2012 was nearly 5000 weapons
16. How will you work with the merger? we wont be affected by the merger
